I'd been suffering from bokeh-envy since we don't have a tree and I don't celebrate Christmas. But there is a beautiful tree on the boardwalk near our rental area and after dinner, Jim and I walked over there so I could create a tree bokeh shot. So happy holidays to all of you celebrating tonight and tomorrow. And for those who have already celebrated their holidays, all the best for a great holiday season!

Thank you as always for your wonderful comments and continued support! I'm starting to catch up but will fall behind again as we leave tomorrow and start our trip home.

@maggiemae I'm not sure what you mean by near focus. Basically, the tree was outside so I stood at an angle where the ocean (very dark by then) was behind it. Then, I turned everything to manual and just did the focus so that the whole thing would be bokeh. I tried it with three different sizes -- fairly small so you could sort of see the outline of the tree and really huge where they all overlapped. But this was the one I liked the best.
Great bokeh effect - makes a cool tree
