I've been enjoying postings from many 365ers who live near mountains with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, and honestly, suffering a bit of envy. In our "partly sunny" day today -- that means 4 minutes of sun barely visible on a gray and cloudy and cold day -- I happened to look out the window just as the sun was peaking through the clouds. I'd been taking photos of the fire in our fireplace so my camera was handy and I took some shots of the sun behind the trees peeking out through the clouds. When processing (ETSOOI more accurately), I realized I could make the lower left clouds look sort of like a mountain, the clouds sort of like a sunrise, and the day, sort of like a great morning scene. Unfortunately, it was just in my imagination.
Thank you all for an amazing morning. I woke up to find two of my shots on Top Twenty. Wow!! Very very exciting!! Many thanks!

Love this.... so often when I grab a moon shot I am upset that I haven't managed to get the way the moon lights the clouds! You have done just that here! fav
@gazbadger Thanks GB! What's interesting is you even used the word 'moon' -- that's what I was going for (or sunrise) but it was actually about 2:00 in the afternoon on a very dreary day -- and those 5 minutes are the only time we've had a hint of the sun in the past 48 hours!
@gazbadger Thanks for the kind words about the photo and TT. I did up the saturation as far as it would go and was excited to see real color. Then I used Color Efex filter to process to bring out the orange and yellow even more. It was so much fun to see this shot, as basically, my eye saw totally gray sky with a little circle of the sun showing through -- for only about 5 minutes so I only had a few shots to work with.
The light and sky are heavenly! We have the mountains you have the wonderful city and lights!! Isn't it wonderful. This almost looks like the moon....FAV Taffy!

Thanks Allison, SKip, and Gena! I had so much fun with this shot -- and am glad you all saw it as the moon and mountains instead of dreary sun and clouds!
Wow, what a fabulous shot, Taffy. I love the silhouettes of the trees and that beautiful sky and sun. I'll trade you some ducks and geese photos for some photos like this one. It is brown and so dry here but nice, in the 70's. No rain in 44 days now and on low water usage to conserve.
Congrats on top 20 too :)
Love this............I can see why you thought the cloud on the left could be a mountain!
Thanks Allison, SKip, and Gena! I had so much fun with this shot -- and am glad you all saw it as the moon and mountains instead of dreary sun and clouds!
