These were two buds that had broken off their stems in the car on the way home, one deep burgundy, one pinkish white. They both opened and bloomed on the same cycle and looked so cute together that I thought they should be photographed. But, it wasn't that interesting in color so I started playing around with various filters, from selective color to solarization to Silver Efex variations to Aperture tweaks and in the end, I liked this but have no clue how I got here. So, it's a one-off shot for sure as it's unlikely I could ever replicate!

This looks like a drawing - very effective. I love playing around with Nik and Aperture and I sometimes think I should write down what I've done so I can repeat it.
Cool processing and effects. It looks especially good viewed against the black background, I think. The tones bring out the depth in the shot nicely.
It's fun to play.
It looks like one of the pencil filters in PS..awesome edit...I know nothing of silver efex but see u guys talk about it...Lightroom? Beautiful and elegant!
@nanderson Silver efex is a plug-in, and I am almost positive you can use it with Lightroom. It's basically acts as a set of b&w filters that can be applied after the photo is taken. You can also adjust within the plugin (e.g., structure, contrast, brightness).
I love this Taffy - I think mainly because it is so me - a lot of my arty posts I have no idea how I got there hahaha - they do look gorgeous together and the processing - whatever it was - lol - suits perfectly
Thanks for the highlighted observations on my Yogurt picture.
It's fun to play.
Great shot
