And the Storm Rolls Over the Urban Mountains by taffy

And the Storm Rolls Over the Urban Mountains

Or, at least over the graduation tent that now occupies the parking lot next to our building on campus. My only opportunity to take a photo today on the way home from work between rain storms. I thought it sort of fit the pattern-texture theme this month, if a pattern can be three huge pointy tents! When is spring coming with blue skies and warm weather? I'm so envious of those of you who have been posting beautiful skies, lovely flowers, long and winding roads...
Thank you all for your wonderful response to my gritty subway shot!
well seen!

I had to stare at this for a while to get it. Do Like the repetition of the triangle tents and angry clouds!
May 2nd, 2014
Wow - that's some incredible storm cloud activity! Awesome contrast with the tent.

Fav. Love this. Looks Japanese to me

I like images that use a pattern of three, and I love how this one uses three triangles. They look great against that brooding sky. Love the processing.

Great shot...I thought you its spring over there. In Australia its autumn, as I travel south its getting colder as Im no longer in the tropics.

Just like Elizabeth @redy4et I kept looking at this trying to sort out the pattern...well, there you have it! It's a fabulous esher-like optical illusion until your eye sorts it all out! Thanks for the weather report...would you like some of our *heat*?!

May 2nd, 2014
Great photo. When I first looked at it, I saw the tents as "space" and the sky as an object. It has a sort of "trick" element to it.... or I'm just nuts, which is possible. :-)

Love how you've used the colour.
May 3rd, 2014
Love the tents and their shapes Taffy although the angry sky is a bit too much for me and I would have cropped it just above the tents as they are the subject to me. Great title too!
May 3rd, 2014
Wow, great shot.
May 4th, 2014
Interesting shot. Great sky. Love the symmetry of the tents.

What cool processing effects you are making!
May 4th, 2014
It's like the pointy tent points will poke the sky, and let down the rain!
