Another shot from the Lighthouse photo shoot, from the area where the concessions/restaurants would be filled with people on a beautiful summer day. In winter...not so much.
I've really appreciated the comments and favs from this photoshoot. I don't think I've ever had as many comments/favs as I did for the shot of the lighthouse -- many, many thanks! I'm off to a course to learn more about LR (photo above processed in LR and Nik Silver Efex) and PS and landscape photography. Wishing all a good week.
If interested, check out the Toys album featuring dragons this week. P3 had an adventure, while I had a photo failure -- http://365project.org/365toygroup/365/2015-01-15 -- including accidentally deleting the finished photo that I had created overlaying two images in camera, then compounding the problem by accidentally deleting the originals on the card. Then realizing I could re-import the exported color version I'd done. Then realizing I couldn't recreate the b&w version that had looked much better than what is now posted. Then deciding that what should I expect if it's 2:30 in the morning! And that it is time to go to post and go to sleep! No need to comment on that one (or even view in the end!)...
This series is one of my favorite. I haven't done much scrapping lately just too busy but oh I can see these in a double spread. Just amazing. And you need this one for contrast to all that white. Perfect. As for the problems just remember you are human especially at 2 a.m. A picture may be a treasure but it is a picture. You will capture tons more in the next year and forget that you took it. Meanwhile just learn and try not to make the same mistakes.
I have already expressed my appreciation for this shot: this particular crop, with it's strong contrast and the frame all works together very very well!
@seanoneill 2 hours and not on the way to any place I go. I'd love to go back if there's more ice buildup. And then in spring and fall. It's very interesting.
I've done the same thing...stayed up until 2:30am, trying to get something just right, only to realize that my gray matter went to sleep, without me, hours prior. This is a great shot - for so many reasons. It's after midnight and one of us should go to sleep! :)
Yikes, 2.30 Taffy! How painful to lose your finished shot! You ended with a great image anyway. Love the repetition and the little bits of snow. I so enjoy seeing everyone's snow when it is stinking hot here.
I like the repetition of the shapes and your DOF is wonderful from front to back. I finally got a new camera and today I had sometime to go out and shoot despite the cold: http://365project.org/falcon11/365
Fabulous B&W shot, Taffy. Love the repetition and clarity throughout this photo. The snow sure makes for beautiful photos. I am always curious to see what you start with and the finished product as this looks SOOC to me but know it is not. FAV
