This funny little gull entertained me for several minutes as I watched him strut around Daley Plaza (where the Picasso is, and at the fountain that I had posted yesterday in b&w). He seemed quite proud of his muffin wrapper and carefully showed it off to everyone in the area: pigeons, photographer (me), man sitting on bench by fountain, etc. He repeatedly hopped down to the fountain's edge, dropped the muffin wrap in it, and then reached his beak down to poke it around. Then he'd pick it up, shake it out, and strut around the plaza again -- always with his head up and looking around to see who was watching. He was still at it when I left.
Eric and Mike, I tried to bring out the details in his head and tone down the white spot. Thanks for the suggestion.
The gulls and pigeons on that corner are sometimes quite savage! I've a cpl of pics of them fighting over something that looks much like this guy is strutting over! Great shot!
Love the refraction in the water, and this proud bird with his muffin wrapper score!! I wonder if it was the food crumbs attached to it, or the actual wrapper that gave him so much joy! I almost want to see him wearing that as a hat!
