Filling in some photos from Greece.
Parthenon at the top of the Acropolis -- one of the most photographed images in the world and this view is pretty typical. The sky was so clear and I liked how you can see how much work is being done, with all the cranes and scaffolds behind the columns.
Fab shot. They were working on it when we went there in the mid 1990s. Come to think of it, they were working on it when my Uncle John went on honeymoon there back in the early 1970s. These Greeks know how to spin a job out!
Wonderful capture and information. Glad to see it is being taken care of.so many things go to pot because cities don't want to spend the money to restore them.
Fabulous shot and I had to smile at Eve's comment. @creampuff They were still building it when we were there in 1986 too. When we lived in Cyprus they were still building Apollo's Temple. You can't rush into these things. One of the favourite words out there is Avrio - tomorrow.
