Flew in for the start of our leadership retreat which is off to a good start. The emptiness of the airport was pretty noticeable, but probably isn't surprising with temperatures this week being in the low 100s all week. Tonight at 10:00 it was still about 95! This is the airport internal train that goes to the terminals and parking lots. I loved all the lines (shocking, I know) and the reflections in the bright sunlight.
Thanks for your wonderful response to the chapel images! I'll continue to post those this week, but thought I'd try to post the photo I actually took today first.
Very hard, almost abstract HDR processing. I would not have used this processing myself, but it certainly works for the subject and adds interest to the image.
Fabulous shot. I had to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius to figure what the temperature was in c but I don't think Sydney airport would be this quiet at those temperatures.
I have been in that airport and know just the place where you shot this... I am surprised it is empty, but you took full advantage of it. The light and reflections are fab. The floor looks like it is made of water. Good luck in all that heat!
@judithg Someone here told me that the weather is unusually cool as it is in the low 100s. It's muggier than normal as usually it's really really dry. All I can say is I dread having to leave the air conditioned meeting rooms to go back to my room! I would not want to live here in the summer.
@rosiekerr I was surprised I could get this. There were people in the other direction, and a steady stream of single folks walking through my shot. I had about 4 minutes to do it, though, waiting for the train, and lucked out. But even tho there were other people, I was really surprised at how empty it felt at 7:00 at night.
Lovely processing Taffy
Have a great retreat - hope you get some "you" time!!
