This week is "Baroque on Beaver" - a music festival that lasts about 10 days, opening with jazz for two nights, then a range of other events primarily classical. I took this at an art fair (I sold 3 photos!) called "Meet the Artist." A quintet performed as people browsed and looked at the various displays. Nice way to spend an afternoon!
Thanks for your fun comments on the Molly in the swing shot! She is a character, a bit tubby, and was definitely feeling smug for getting to sit in the swing!
I like how you've captured this scene, and those clothes pins playing prominently in this image tells us "windy outside". Congrats on selling 3 -- which ones?
Love the shallow dof. Congrats on selling some pictures. Our village is having a festival in September and I will be having a small showing. Hopefully I can be as successful as you.
I love the use of the clothes pins! I might have to give that a try someday. I really like your composition and the bokeh ... and congrats on the sales!
Great way to capture the festival atmosphere and many congratulations on selling three pictures. Well deserved you have some wonderful shots and I'm surprised you didn't sell more.Fav
@888rachel I sold one of a butterfly on a beach flower, from last summer, "Beaver Island Welcomes Us" from early last summer, and the Mysterious Meadow from 2013. I didn't have anything to show from this past year - couldn't get organized enough to put it together, but didn't want to let down the owner of the gallery who sponsors the event. I was thrilled to have sold the three, but wish I could have had more current work to show.
@888rachel Definitely! I've already ordered a few 'candidate prints' to start thinking about which ones will work best. They always look better on the computer to me, than they do when I print them!
Oh well done Taffy on selling 3 photos! It's a wonderful feeling when someone actually wants to pay for your work isn't it? We're they framed? You have so many recent images which I am sure people will love too! You need to find a gallery in Chicago as I am sure your fabulous images would sell well there. This is a lovely image!
Congrats on selling 3 photos at the art fair Taffy.
