The Chicago Cultural Center is home to two amazing glass domes. I posted the 'big' one (the Tiffany) last week. This is the ceremonial hall that houses the 'little' dome - a beautiful room.
Thanks for all your kind comments about how our condo has turned out. I really appreciate it -- we worked hard to make it something we could be excited about moving back to and not long for 'before the fire' when we moved back in.
Alternate album - all about color for our mentor group's theme this week (or so): http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2015-10-01
My gosh Taffy, you've got some wonderful buildings in Chicago, and clearly open to the public too. Great photo, the distortion directs the eye straight up into the dome. Love the symmetry and the reflections too. Fav.
Just love your architectural shots Taffy, I always know they are yours as I scroll down. Instant fav of this beautiful building and loving your wide angle.
I can always spot your shots on the TP when I wake up in the morning Taffy, you have such a distinctive style. Love the comp and symmetry of your shot.
Very nice space, and another wonderful glass dome! Are those glass grates on the floor lighting up the space below?! At first I thought it must have been light coming in from windows or skylights, but they are too perfectly placed for that, and I cannot locate a light source.
I know I'd be standing there looking up, saying Wow! a whole bunch of times. As others have said, your architectural photos have a distinctive "Taffy" appearance to them.
@pamknowler We'll spend a morning here mid-week -- that's the time that's best when there are few folks around. They also have free concerts there at noon but not sure what the schedule will be for next spring yet.
fav
It's such an interesting room.
