Junko @jyokota and I did a relatively short final visit to the ocean together before we left Carlsbad as the conference ended. It was a great morning of vistas, surfers, birds, and volleyball players. This was taken from Carlsbad beach looking south, with the sun lighting up the misty fog.
Such a beautiful image Taffy! Love the light and tone of the shot! As a point of interest how many shots do you take and never process? Or do you process every shot you take but just keep them on your hard drive? Just wondering if it's only me who has so many unprocessed shots just sitting there taking up space! Sometimes I have lots of similar shots taken using the fast shutter speed - especially bird/animal/ action shots. I find it hard to delete!
@pamknowler Interesting question! An answer might be...when you see the surfer shot, and know that was one series of about 6 or 8 I took, with as many photos, that tells you how many just from surfers I deleted (or need to delete as I will never process them -- maybe I don't care enough about surfers to keep them, and also they aren't 'worthy'). I take far too many! Sometimes I try with different settings, or because I wasn't standing in the right spot and moved, or from bracketing several options. It's really ridiculous and I probably could spend a year just with shots already taken, never processed, and almost forgotten -- and some are reasonably decent! I sometimes try to be more selective on the shooting end, rather than the processing end, but I rarely succeed.
