Change of Pace by taffy

Change of Pace

I've gotten away from posting flowers, but wanted to try the soft pastel editing that @paulaw had used in her recent floral posts, and also provided a link to a tutorial. The Chicago Botanic Gardens is having a large orchid exhibition starting February 12th and Andie - @ukandie1 - and I happened on some prep work in the greenhouse. I thought these lent themselves to the softer focus -- something I rarely use. Thanks Paulal! I'll be interested in how you think this came out.
This is beautiful, Taffy. I really like the softness of it.

Very chic & dainty:)

A beautiful image. It looks great in the soft pastel.

I like this a lot in the pastel. Are the orchids textured too or just past their prime? If the former, I'd suggest masking it out from them

Lovely softness which highlights your usual clarity!

A lovely pastel....nicely composed and presented Taffy.

The soft focus really worked well Taffy. I really like the result.

I am still struggling with soft focus on something I am used to seeing crisp with detail. Very pretty colours. Everyone else loves it so it must be just me!! LOL!!
January 27th, 2016
@jgpittenger The orchids did have texture in them. Mmm...something new to figure out how to reduce without having it too soft elsewhere! It's good for me!!
January 27th, 2016
Very pretty. I like the tones.
January 27th, 2016
It has a great softness to it. Well shot and edited

Really beautiful

Lovely

I think it's extremely sophisticated and I really like the soft focus and composition. The colours are very different from what I traditionally think of as pastel so I googled 'pastel colour palette' and these muted colours were all there so the link obviously works :))) I have to say I have several orchids at home and I find it very difficult to find a good angle to do them justice - something you have definitely achieved here Taffy. I also like the texture in the petals.

The soft focus is perfect

Gorgeous soft dreamy shot Taffy, the colours are sublimely peaceful.
