Arches Along the Walkway by taffy

Arches Along the Walkway

From yesterday's photoshoot at Dominican University west of Chicago. Processed in Lightroom and -- very happy to report -- pesky unwanted trash can removed via Photoshop. Then converted to BW and processed in Silver Efex
I love the line of arches, and the light playing through them. I also love the quirky tracery of the tree at the edge of the image.

Wow gorgeous Taffy! fav!

Great b&w, Taffy. Has a very painterly feel to it. Must follow your example re Silver Efex. At the moment I'm converting to b&w in Photoshop via a b&w layer, while Silver Efex is just sitting on my laptop, waiting to be investigated and used!

February 14th, 2016
Beautiful aches and lines. Love this composition. It's great that you could "take out the trash", fabulous editing!
February 14th, 2016
Respect for going to the trouble of removing the trash can in Photoshop....sometimes i'm not up for the trouble; it was worth not seeing it in this grand scene. What a privilege to walk these halls...
February 14th, 2016
I like the contrast of the magnificent arches with those little square windows in the wall. Atmospheric shot!
February 14th, 2016

February 15th, 2016
The perspective, leading lines and patterns are very effective and the door is a great 'tease' , makes me wonder what's on the other side of it.
February 15th, 2016
So much lovely detail in the arches and what wonderful leading line to the door
February 15th, 2016
LOL I am getting very good at removing pesky things from scenes like this! Isn't digital great?! Beautiful shot.
February 15th, 2016
Simply wonderful in b&w, and sans pesky trash. Some people are pigs. The texture in these shots appeals to me a lot, and I really like the pattern of receding archways. It has a real cloister feel to it, very appropriate for a Dominican institution. Fav for me.
February 15th, 2016
Wonderful composition, capture!

Jo
Great shot and wonderful processing.
February 16th, 2016
Another delightful image rendered well in monochrome. If it were mine I would crop out the light area on the right as it distracts the eye. Otherwise excellent!
February 21st, 2016
@marshwader Thanks so much for your visits and comments, Madeleine! I really appreciate it. I know what you mean in this one re the lighter area on the right. I had considered just darkening it. I couldn't crop as it created an odd look to the first arch, but going back to this a week later, the light area is annoying. Will try to do something about it!
