Our international meetup group headed to the gardens yesterday afternoon for a wander among the spring flowers, budding trees, and other signs of the new season. The sun was out so everything shone. This is actually a double exposure using Topaz Textures. I created my own texture for the background from a shot with a very shallow DoF. Then used the texture with the bug on the leaves to reduce distractions from the branches and get rid of a light glare.
Absolutely lovely! Fascinating how we captured so many different nuances in the same location! What a beautiful garden...must return again (and again!)
I love this Taffy especially as you have used your own texture as the background (now on my list of things to learn - list growing longer every day!!) A beautiful composition and gorgeous rich colours!! Fav!!
That's very clever Taffy, I like what you've done here! I have some other ideas to try out too, it is fun isn't it. And I'm very jealous of the international meet up going on in Chicago, what fun!
@radiogirl I use Topaz Textures -- I am still working on learning to master (or at least use effectively) PS layers. Textures is more intuitive, so I 'get' the idea of layers, just not how to do them in PS except through luck. Thanks for the kind words!
Lovely DOF obviously :)
