These are called 'old fashioned donuts' and they melt in your mouth. They are filled with sugar and bad things but made fresh each day. They exist about 2 minutes from my front door. It means I can put on a pot of tea, dash down to pick one of these, and be back just in time for the tea to have steeped. This is not a good thing. Sugar = the tobacco of our day. I'm addicted.
THANK YOU so much for all your lovely comments on my unnamed bird yesterday. Your responses were so encouraging. Both tree and bird were in the same area, but bird would not land on the tree I wanted it to be on.
@jamibann The best I can do to describe how good they are...as a chocolate addict, even when faced with several chocolate choices there, I often choose one of these. They are THAT good!
OMG I need a bakers shop like that near me! No what I really mean is thank goodness it's in the US and I am in the UK! Lol! Mouthwatering image and needs to come with a health warning! I need something sweet now! So glad you can enjoy one of these with your tea! Fav!
I have to wipe my mouth because it is watering. I am always saying to myself that I should take care of what I eat but the words are always transferred to the next day. How can one resist these.
They do look mouth-watering indeed. Although not always one for symmetry, I really enjoy the centrally placed one which is in perfect focus. It is the one I would take right now if I could.
I would love to feel morally superior because I am sugar-free and ultra fit but sadly none of these things are remotely true!! I think my nose would lead me to the donut door even in my sleep......love the focus on this.
I'm going to make no comment on the pastries - I have other addictions - but congrats on putting the 50mm through its paces... that certainly entitles you to a little treat!
@vignouse@kazlamont Haha...if I put your two comments together -- 4 minutes of intensive exercise from Kazzy and being entitled to a treat having used my 50mm, it means as soon as they open tomorrow, I should be down there!! Many thanks, I think!
Oh my! These are one of my favorite kinds of donuts. You're so right about them melting in your mouth. I've not had them from this place in particular but I'm willing to. :)
That would far too big a temptation for me, I'd be even bigger than I am. I love doughnuts. Fortunately the ones from the supermarket are not hard to resist.
What a great shot. Food is really hard to photograph well - I'll get they'd pay to put this up on the wall as a poster! And I would gain 50 lbs in a week if I lived by you.
Oh yum this is amazing... I agree, sugar is the new tobacco - or cocaine. So addictive and so terrible for you... so hard to resist! Great shot of these delicious morsels of happiness.
Those would be deadly! Just stopping once would give me a license to stop again tomorrow. I remember taking the CNW train in from Evanston and I would have to stop at Fanny May and Starbucks before even getting out of the train station! fav!
