We visited a spouting geyser on the Golden Circle outside Reykjavik. It was great fun to see the range of 'figures' that emerged from the ground. Our guide told us they were trolls, but some looked like animals or human-ish figures. I liked how this one seemed to be looking down and talking to the human looking up.
The variety of what we are seeing is almost overwhelming (in a good way). We were actually happy today to have our tour rained out and a day to relax and roam the capitol, as well as do some processing.

Waaaaaaaaaw ! !!! , I am speechless !! what a phenomenon ! this spouting geyser really knows how to spit them out !! -- this is certainly a human form with outstretched arm while preaching to her people ! Thanks for sharing -- its marvellous to see all theas wonders through your photography ! a huge FAV
I immediately saw the figure! This is fabulous! I read your cation to Ken and said I thought we ought to consider it! No time this summer, but maybe next! You've sold me in just a few words!
Very cool. Two of my best friends have been there. One goes there every time she goes to and from Sweden to visit her mom so knows it very well. So jealous but doing eldercare for my mom and can't get away more than a day at a time. Can't wait to see more of your shots.
That one does look like a troll. The power of nature never ceases to amaze me. Stunning shot of this wonder. The tiny figure on the right gives an excellent sense of scale.
What a beautiful sight... funny, how everyone sees something differently in the smoke/steam. Wonderful shot, with the scale of the person at the base, along with the horizontal lines of the environment. Such an exciting trip!
Great shot, and I'm convinced I'm the oddball out, as I see a catcher's mitt on top of a cat. Freud could write a whole chapter on me I suppose. What a fascinating set of sites you're experiencing. Fun having you share it with us.
Seeing that tiny person against the huge giant is fabulous!! What a sight this must have been!! So many wonderful images Taffy!! Looks like a photographers dream!! Fav!
@casablanca Our guide was fantastic! I learned so much about framing and processing landscapes, and he was thorough in deciding each day's itinerary based on northern light's activity, sunrise/sunset, wind, general weather. We suggested he join 365 (selfishly as I figured we'd learn from his images -- he's a pro) -- here's his link: @palljokull
@helenhall Laughing at your comment re 'full on perm' -- captures her look so well!! I've really had fun reading all the different interpretations of the figure.
