While Jim worked on Thanksgiving dinner, my brother, SIL, and I did a 4 1/2 miles urban hike to Lake Michigan and back along the Chicago Riverwalk. Then, back home to do our part to help with the dinner. All came together well and it's a good thing we burnt some calories earlier in the day. Hope you all have enjoyed your day - holiday or not.
Great details and there's a feel of an oasis of calm in this - it looks like one of those suddenly quiet places that you sometimes happen upon in cities.
Oh how lovely to see these fabulous bridges! As Rosie @rosiekind says this is a wonderful reminder of our great walks along the river and of course our fabulous views from our hotel this year! I love Chicago - a photographers dream! Fav! So pleased you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your family!
Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate - Ill have to see what my chances of doing something similar on Christmas day. (I already know actually - zero). This is a great bridges shot with all four lined up in golden browns and the modern architecture peeping out over the top. Love it.
@taffy lol...I was very proud of myself (as was Nik) I delegated to Nik and I have to say it saved me a ton of time and stress. She was the perfect person to have in the kitchen. We had a great thanksgiving, sounds like you did too!
One of our favorite places to be when we go to Chicago is downtown by and among the bridges. Nice image here. If you have a moment, check out this shot I took from the Michigan Avenue bridge, back in 2006. http://www.gshearronimages.com/Art-Show-Images-1/i-GCPJTL4/A
