For Jane's and my last evening of our photoshoot in the Palouse, the clouds disappeared just in time for us to photograph the early evening light, just before sunset. We've learned that this is 'the' time to photograph, and we were in the right place to take advantage of the open rolling hills in all their color (especially given that the growth is non-existent in many places or early spring growth). The layers are amazing to see!
Wonderful use of the light and the layers. I find this fabulous landscape is almost unreal it's so beautiful - like from a story book.I would just love to visit!! I have seen images from other 365ers over the years and each time I fall in love again!! Fav! What a wonderful photo trip you and Jane have had!! Safe journey home!!
Beautiful landscape with the folds of the rolling land with the long spring shadows Love the row of conical shaped trees nearly giving us an !/2 &!/2 capture !! Somehow the whole scene has a very painterly look in the style of a painter I can not quite remember !! (senior moment !! ha ha )
Love this!!! It is one of those captures that the more you look at it the more you see! Fantastic layers! I have to admit that when you first talked about the Palouse I had to google it!
I'm coming back to this lovely shot, because it offers a chance to ask an editorial question.... raise up the shadows? leave them alone? something in the middle? What a fabulous landscape.
Sigh . . . those layers . . . this is exactly what I'd hope to see and capture if I ever go to Palouse . . . your capture is beautiful and your processing brings out the depths so richly.
Gosh you are making us work going so far down the page to find a spot to comment!!! What a fabulous response you have had to such a beautiful image...such lovely soft late light...with the highlights outlining the hills just evident. Wonderful photo...fav of course
missed this before and just found it at the very top of the tt - many congrats - well-deserved :) i was interested to see the lighter shadows on flickr, which in my view make it even more spectacular!
