More tests for the Z7 Nikon Mirrorless. Looking here at how it works with more of a closeup than the pano posted previously, and how the files work in Topaz textures. Exporting to Textures within LR was the same as files from my D610, unlike the problems I had with the Z7 exporting to PS.
No need to comment...just testing and reporting what I've found.
@olivetreeann It was a gift many years ago -- a seed pot, actually. My mom collects Native American art and it was a birthday gift ages ago. Thanks for your comment, as always!
@gamelee Yes, it is -- for me anyway -- very expensive! So I rented it to see what I would think of it as I was planning to purchase a Z6 sometime in the future, when the next generation came out. But with my mom 610 camera breaking (though fixable), some big trips ahead and needing a backup body, and the cost of renting a camera body for each of the trips, it's not cost effective to just rent. And I want to move to a mirrorless system but one that will work with my current lenses as I slowly shift over. Very sadly, this is a wonderful camera! I was hoping it would not live up to the hype and it would be an easy discard on my wish list. But I'm finding that I do really like it, despite the hassles of it not talking with usb-c ports for card readers, needing upgrades to the LR and PS systems, etc. A huge birthday is coming up, so it is a possibility only because of that event...but a huge decision to make.
@gamelee Thanks Lee! It seems indulgent, but sort of a 'price per use' I'm guessing I'd get my money's worth in almost daily use over the next several years. I have some time before I make the decision but have to admit that I'm leaning toward the Z7.
Love all the textures - a perfect match to this vase. Just been looking at cost of renting as I have a trip coming up and it is going to be really frustrating not having a zoom, but sadly it is out of my league.
I just bought the Canon EOS R mirrorless and I am finding it really amazing. Especially with the native RF lenses. Super sharp and its also very customizable. I am a Canon user and have a small inventory of Canon lenses which I have found to work very wellwith the adapter without any loss in functionality or speed. I have been waiting for a Canon full frame mirrorless for a couple of years, so the decison was not hard for me. The detail in your photo is amazing. That’s what sold me on the Canon system was the incredible sharpness of the ne RF lenses that come with the EOS R. Have fun with it.
Love the 'expression' on that vase, very clever Taffy. I've never regretted jumping the Canon ship in favour of Fujifilm, I love my X-T2 and the lenses are excellent. But then, I wanted a cropped-sensor camera for several reasons. Had I wanted to go FF Sony would've been my choice. All that said, I totally get you re re-using currently owned lenses. I had to sell all my Canon lenses and buy new Fuji ones.
Reading the comments, I can see the dilemma. Renting illuminates the decision process, for good or ill. This vase has some googlie eyes, which are charming.
