Navy Pier has a rich history (e.g., in WWII, planes used to practice off the pier, leading to a lot of submerged wreckage in Lake Michigan; later it was an early campus for University of Illinois at Chicago when it was "Circle Campus"; my parents remember dances there in the 1930s as young adults). Today it's home to the Children's Museum, Shakespeare Theatre, and lots of restaurants and shops, and the jumping off point for lake dinner cruises and sightseeing. We were there to see England's National Theatre production of An Inspector Calls which was fascinating.
Taken with iPhone -- the only camera I had with me.
Always a "must see" site when I'm in Chicago, which is, sadly, a very rare occurrence anymore. You and your iPhone did a great job of capturing this night scene.
Very interesting history to this site Taffy, thanks for sharing. Love the photo, great quality image from your phone. My phone photos are rather mixed, I suspect that sometimes I ask too much of it.
