This long-eared owl is one of three who has made his winter home at the Magic Hedge off Lake Michigan in Chicago. I couldn't get a good shot of the pair with their eyes open because of all the branches in the way, so this will have to do. It was exciting to see them at all! Worth the cold walk.
I’m so so glad you got to see the owl and photograph it, too! When we were face timing and I knew you were at the place where I had seen it I was disappointed the owls weren’t there any more so good to run into birders who knew where to look!
