This is the third in the series from today. We drove up from Chicago to Charlevoix, Michigan, to catch the small, 6 seater flight from there to Beaver Island. The pilot, Mark, knew I wanted to take photos so I flew in the copilot seat. He even let me open the little round insert in the window so I wouldn't have an obstructed shot. Unfortunately, he couldn't stop the winds from making it a little bumpy for shooting. I liked how this one captured all the color and the ominous clouds. I was happy to be back on the ground before the storm hit! The flight only lasts 17 minutes. In my other extras album is a photo from the drive up: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-10-25

Fun fall day! And great to be back on Beaver Island!
@joluise Thanks for the fav, Jo! I appreciate it. It really is beautiful here, and wonderfully isolated. But I bet with the winds howling out there that a lot of these leaves won't be on the trees tomorrow!
Definitely a wow shot! How fab to sit up with the pilot to be able to get this shot! Sounds a bit too bumpy for me! Enjoy your lovely island! I hope the weather lets you get some final shots for the season! Fav!
BEAUTIFUL! Love Fall. I've really missed being on the site, but time is too short for all the time I was spending on it, and with so many other commitments this fall, not to mention taking care of family issues! Congrats and FAV!
@havrotb Wow -- thanks so much for the fav, Barb! I know what you mean about time...it's been a 'black hole' of time for me. It's good to see you back here and then when you do have the time, though!
@olivetreeann It is a wonderful little airline -- they treat us all as if we were the most important people. But it's really just the charter service for getting to and from the island from the mainland.
