I've avoided selfies for the entire project but thought I should do one before the end of Year 1 (I've done one other under duress of Get Pushed). I set up the shot and then had Jim push the shutter. My close friend since grad school and partner in our school improvement company lives in Honolulu. Today was the annual holiday luncheon for our staff, held at her home. They gave me this lei which was more like a crown, after singing happy birthday. We had a lovely lunch with musical entertainment provided by a women's quartet that plays traditional Hawaiian music (usually the realm of male groups) and today, some holiday songs (for more information on our entertainment group, see http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-04-05). Even our work day was lovely! I suspect tomorrow's meetings won't be quite as exciting. But our reward after the meetings is to play a round of golf. Life is good.
Nice to see you, very lovely selfie! It´s always great to see faces behind photos. Seeing people doing selfie even thou they don´t feel very comfortable doing so, makes me think that I should do selfie too, at least once before I compleate my project.

What a very special community and I think my 'friends/followers' are the very very best! I'm having a great time in Hawaii -- it's a photographer's dream! And it's been fun to spend time with friends and colleagues in such an amazing place. I will eventually catch up on all your postings -- I've been squeezing in time here and there so I know I've missed commenting on some spectacular photos.
