Jerry Plume started a theme of signs ( http://365project.org/discuss/general/21608/give-me-direction-too). Walking to the greening of the Chicago River yesterday, I took this shot, with plans to take several more and make a collage of signs. Cold fingers did me in and I totally forgot on the way home to fulfill my plan! So, here's the sole sign shot I took, a theater sign and the marquee -- so maybe that counts as 2?
This is the Chicago Theater (obviously), one that has been around for decades and decades. It's now one of the smaller venues in the city for concerts and other performances. Not used much for live theater these days.
@maggiemae It's Marina Tower (one of two), built in the 1960s as very avant garde residences. Over time, they became less prestigious, though recently they've been renovated. In the early 1970s my then boyfriend and I (right out of college and about to be married) pretended our parents were supporting us and interested in purchasing a condo, so we could see them inside. We did get a tour! Haven't been in one since.
Nice shot. I have sort of a fixation on signs. See so many I want to take photos of that I force myself to consider other elements surrounding the sign. This has a very nice perspective.
