It was a great day today for taking a photo walk. I mentioned in my main album photo -- my 365 diet is at an end with the proposal done 36 hours early, and two of the other remaining three biggies are behind me. Yay! The lighting was beautiful in the city this evening and this is one of the shots taken from Roosevelt Road, looking north toward the city. For this one, I stood on the bridge over the river and waited til the sun was low enough to create the reflection. We're looking at the Sears Tower (of course) and the "Engagement Ring" building on Wacker. To the right the low curved building is River City -- built about 20 years ago or more, the residents there can park their boats under the building on the river, and go from there to Lake Michigan, and technical through the Great Lakes, the canal and out to the Atlantic!
And finally, I thought it might work for the contrast theme -- water and land, city and grasslands, light and dark, curves and angles.

Thanks Wendy, Gena, Lisa, Deb, and Breigh! Breigh -- definitely would say Chicago is a GREAT place to visit. Wonderful city and very friendly people. and LOTS of photo ops (for selfies and other shots).
Fabulous composition, beautiful lighting, great capture of Chicago at its best! (Maybe trim a teeny bit off of the left where there's a hairline of a building showing?)
I plan to visit Chicago in late 2015 with my son, hire a car and drive to LA along Route 66. But he will be 17 then and may not want to go on a holiday with hid old man! Nice perspective of the city.
@jyokota Ah, you noticed the power plant 'photo bomb'. I couldn't get it out without messing up the framing and have to admit to not wanting to take the time to clone it out. I did think about it though!
@fishy Andrew, what a GREAT idea! You'll go through so many interesting areas and it's such an historic route. It will be hard even for a teenager not to enjoy it!
@vankrey Thanks Michael -- on it's good days, nothing can beat Chicago as the place to be!

Thanks Cathy, Kazzy, Barb, Elisa, and Kim!
@dolphin Thanks Molly! I'm guessing my shots in 2006 wouldn't have turned out like this either!
Thanks DMT, Ann, and Colie -- I so look forward to your comments.
