I downloaded the Tiny Planet app today and played with it a little. I realized soon into it that creating the circular photos is much harder than I'd thought it would be. You have to predict how the content will create color and patterns that are interesting, and be solid enough to maintain something of the original. So, a LOT to learn still. in the end, I liked this one. It was a simply flower and doesn't really create a tiny planet, but I liked the color contrast and the way the flower looks like it has two arms reaching out. It was fun to do something so bright, cheerful, and abstract to contrast with my main album shot which was quite the opposite.
@spair Thanks Susan. @wildwood28 started a discussion today and included the app name, which she had gotten from Elaine ( @elaine55). There are several examples, and as Elaine noted -- very easy to do, but it doesn't work well with all images (an understatement -- I'd say it doesn't work well with most images).
Yes i like this too, it really does look like it´s reaching out and the contrast is suberb, very intriguing. Looking forward seeing your other planets, sound like a fun app
This is lovely Taffy! It sounds like there is log of trial and error with this app but this shot shows it was worth the effort! I am going to get the app but I don't have an ipad so would have yo do the edit on the phone. Not sure the screen is big enough to see the effect.
@pamknowler I think it would work on the phone. You'd have a pretty good guess, then export it so you can open on your computer for full view. It's free so might as well give it a try!
@danielwsc Thanks Daniel -- for your comment here, for letting me know about TT, and for viewing so many photos! I really do appreciate it and your comments (I also agree, BTW, that the Uncle Sam is most street scene like -- I debated just posting that, but then thought I'd miss conveying the small town feel of the parade).
