My get pushed challenge this week was to capture street scenes. The 4th of July one captured a unique moment in time on Beaver Island at one of our major summer events. This street scene is more typical of what you might see. This is a MAJOR LANDMARK on Beaver Island. I am not kidding. It is actually ON THE MAP of Beaver Island! It is called...wait for it..."The Rock." Seriously, tourists and islanders bike, hike, and drive over to see it (it's off Fox Lake Road). So, with friends David and Carol visiting us, we made a point to stop there on the way home from a visit to the south end of the island. This truly is a street scene -- photographed with Carol and our car so you can see the scale of "the rock."

Thanks Yao, Annie, Junko, Rachel, Daniel, and Cathie. This is a funny thing to see and I'm glad you saw the humor in it. Cathie -- I have to admit that Beaver Island can be idyllic. People either love it or hate it -- the latter because it is pretty basic and you pretty much have to like making your own fun. I'm glad you see the wonderful side to it!
