We have this windsock because, as Chicagoans, you can't help but pick a team -- Cubs (perennial losers for as long as I've lived) or White Sox (disappointing but occasional successes in recent memory). So being a Cubs fan, this image either means: (a) Trying to win on the Cubs is like reaching the sun OR (b) The sunburst is what it would feel like if the Cubs were a winning team. Mixing a bit of Chicago with Beaver Island here -- as a break from bugs, flowers, and island scenes -- I thought I'd continue to play with flare because of hosting the CSC-29 challenge [remember to consider submitting].
As I explained in my challenges album shot today, I was coming up from the deck where an attempt to catch the biplane failed, I saw the sun at its peak, looking like it had been shot out of the windsock and tried to capture the look. In the end, I couldn't quite get the lineup they way I wanted, but liked the feeling in this one: the sun, the Cubs, the woods, the blue sky.
A weird abstract that was just of the sun, with ICM (intentional camera movement) is in my main album: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-07-11
Ha! There's a Cubs hat on the wall in my office (my husband's favorite team that never wins, but one can dream, right!?). I'm a Brave's fan being from Atlanta. :)
@darylo That is too funny! So you understand why it's such a joke to even hang the windsock. Jim said I should send the photo to the team and give it a title about reaching for the sun (which is what a winning season feels like to us!).

Thanks Pauline, Timothy, Susale, Annie, and Vanessa. I was hoping that to convey that it had been shot out of the windsock but the wind wouldn't cooperate to line them up with the garage being in the way. Thanks so much for commenting!
