Jim and I went for a walk tonite through Millennium Park on the way to meet some friends for dinner. It was such a calm and clear night with the clearest reflections in the "Faces Reflecting Pond" (which is actually called the Crown Fountain. There are two of these towers that face each other across a large granite reflecting pond. Water sprays down from the top of the tower, and at times out of spouts that look like the mouth is spitting (yeah, lovely, but really, it does look impressive). I've never seen the pond so empty! Usually there are tons of kids playing in it, and with the wind, you'd be totally wet standing where I was to take this shot. So, for me, it was a once in a blue moon sort of capture.

This is awesome...but not sure how it works? Is this the same face all the time or is random people... So an interesting concept. Lovely image with lighting and reflections.
@eyesmile The faces change and represent all different images of people in the city - older, younger, men, women, range of ethnicities. And the faces in the two towers that are opposite each other are different.
Really fascinating image. Love your composition, the lighting and reflections. I am so intrigued by the artwork. Must visit Chicago sooner rather than later!
Another great shot for the Chicago Tourism Board! No, really, it's a great shot Taffy, all kidding aside. The reflection is really cool and I can imagine the picture spitting out the water while kids enjoy the blast. Nicely captured!
Taffy...do these people know they are being displayed iin this manner...are they posing in front of a camera in a remote place? Just find it so interesting.
@eyesmile They do -- apparently they are either recruited or somehow connected as it is apparently a big deal / honor to be selected. But I don't know how they do it. It's not 'live' or candid.
