I went with @jyokota and her husband (my colleague) Bill to see the Puerto Rican Quatro Concert (along with a 'warm-up' by members of the Puerto Rico National Symphony) on campus. It was the perfect opportunity to work on my Get-Pushed challenge from @so_lo_webb to "take an environmental portrait." I'm not sure if this fits the bill, but I'm hoping that musicians in a concert environment works. The cello player is surrounded by her tools, with nothing else to distract. I like that she looked dwarfed by the tools from this angle.
Another musician portrait is in my extra extras album. http://365project.org/taffy/special-photos/2013-11-07
@so_lo_webb Attempt #1 for get-pushed. I hope this counts as environmental enough. It was such an interesting opportunity to think about 'portrait' in a musician's environment.
I love her focus in this portrait. I also find the hard black music stands to add interest to this image. It makes viewers consider the role of this important "tool" for musicians.
