Just north of the planetarium are dramatic steps leading down to the embankment along the lake. I took this yesterday afternoon. I noticed three buddhist monks, in the red gowns (and I hope winter clothes and boots beneath!). Processed using selective color to bring back their robes. For bw-bookclub with its emphasis on artistic choice, and black and white Wednesday.

For those interested in processing choices, for bw-bookclub this week, here is the original photo I was editing. Very different in that form (and not very interesting!): http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffyraphael/12662258364/
this is gorgeous. i love the branches in the foreground and the ominous clouds and its great as selective color, actually can't imagine it any other way. Fav
OMG Taffy! This is fabulous! The composition and use of selective color is brilliant. Reminds me of an Asian pen and ink drawing. I think this is my number one favorite of yours! and there are lots of favorites.Of course Fav!
I need to look at this later on my big screen. I don't think my laptop does it justice, but I can see that if you hadn't retained the color, the monks would have been lost in the scene. Great choice! The curves lead into the image, and the branches fill the sky beautifully.
I love this Taffy, I saw it on the Trending page and thought it was two separate photos at first. Love the use of selective colour in this as it suits so well against the snow covered steps. Fabulous and a fav!
This is absolutely wonderful - I can't think of enough superlatives to describe my response to this shot: if I could 'super-fav' it, I would definitely do so!
Oh, I really, really like this! The sharpness of the branches, the dark sky, the whiteness of the ground (and lake?) the curves and the SC. Perfect, well done. Fav.
@jo13 I had no idea, and didn't really even notice them until I was processing the photo. Here's the original -- you can see, they were just little spots. I saw the reddish orange, but wasn't sure who was down there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffyraphael/12662258364/
This is a brilliant image. Thank you so much for sharing the original. You did a magnificent job with the processing. You created art out of a pleasant, but not particularly impactful scene. Well done! FAV
Fav for me, my friend.
