The third in the series: I decided to focus on the whole flower that is in full bloom at the moment and sagging under its own weight. To do this, I wrapped a black background from my cowboy portable studio around its stem and taped it to hold it together, then taped the top (which kept flopping over) to one of the upper blooms. It was pretty precarious, to say the least! But it held long enough for me to take about 6 shots and stack three of them as I did yesterday to up the quality of the details.
This one, by the way, does look much different enlarged on a black background - it makes it feel less claustrophobic, I think.

Stunning! Even with all that darkness surrounding the flower, what stands out for me is the light. It seems to wrap around each petal - like magic. faved
I only just saw this on the newest posting that you didn't want comments on, so I went looking for the original! WOW...it's a stunner! Once again, I love the information you share, and, indeed, it's "over-the-moon" on all black! It never ceases to amaze me how you challenge yourself...which is, in large part, what makes your photography so exceptional!
Thank you for sharing how you got this result.........I'm hoping to try the black background.
