Once a Window by taffy

Once a Window

Just off a trail is someone's private property which contains what appears to be a dumping ground for old cars. It's a photographer's dream and I took a ton of shots there to work with over the next several months as there's nothing like this in Chicago! Here's the first one, the driver's side window from a rusted out old truck.
beautifully processed and composed - look forward to seeing the rest

The patterns in the broken glass are captivating.

Very unique and artistic take on the subject of old cars, Taffy. I know for sure that my male eyes would not have seen the same image. Very well composed, combining the old man made structure with the reflection of nature in it...one of those "nature will eventually claim back" ideas. Interesting processing. Looking forward to more of these!

What a great find to give so much to you! I love the light in it and how the cracked window acts as a mirror to capture the plants. Fav

Love this shot. Would love to take photos there. I took a photo of an old bus a couple of days ago, but couldn't get too close because it was on someone's property.

Great shot, love decayed old cars.

This looks like the kind of photo that a lot of us see but aren't able to pull off. I thought at first it was pressed or carved glass.

@ericdibosco I hadn't thought about gendered photo-taking of old cars! I'll have to take a look at my other shots and see any others have this possibility -- you can let me know!

It's very pretty!

This makes me want to catch a plane and find your goldmine.
September 3rd, 2014
@bob65 Thanks Bob!! Of course, you'd need to find a plane and probably two, then a ferry, then a car...but it is a gold mine!
