Into the Darkness by taffy

Into the Darkness

Thank you for your wonderful positive response to the blue hour shot over the Smokies. I don't think I've had a photograph this well received and it feels great! It was such a special place to be - and such a good time with Junko and Daryl.
This is for Jerry's One Night Stand (ONS10) - http://365project.org/discuss/general/26630/time-for-a-one-night-stand
with the focus today on minimalism. Learned today that minimal does not equal easy! So fun doing this, though...
Is this a vent .... thought at first it might be RR tracks. Very cool effect and processing.

@eyesmile Thanks Gena! Actually these are our stairs from main to upper floor -- bright white risers and expresso stain stairs, but I took it this evening with only the light on upstairs so that it was purposefully dark and only where the light hit was there any outline.
November 10th, 2015
Well done...excellent lighting
November 10th, 2015

I learned the same lesson today! Love this low light shot!
November 10th, 2015
Wow such a great low light shot! Fav!
November 10th, 2015
No, I'm pretty sure that minimalism = difficult! But you've nailed this one. So lovely viewed large on black! Very atmospheric.
November 10th, 2015
Great processing. Can you hear the train coming?
November 10th, 2015
Stairs or RR tracks - it doesn't matter because you captured the common essence of both. Excellent. Fav.
November 10th, 2015
Great minimal shot!
November 10th, 2015

November 10th, 2015
Great minimalism!
November 10th, 2015
@fotoblah Thanks! I think it was a lot safer taking these of my stairs than it would have been to sit on RR tracks at night!
November 10th, 2015
love your composition here. minimalistic and mysterious!
November 10th, 2015
Probably the hardest thing about minimalism is choosing which aspect of your shot best encapsulates and describes your subject without fully exposing it in the picture. This is great!
November 10th, 2015
Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
November 10th, 2015

November 10th, 2015
Not fair! You didn't explain what it is and now my mind will play with possibilities.
November 11th, 2015
@joansmor Here's my response to Gena...way up in the thread so easily missed! Thanks as always for your visit -- what possibilities did you come up with?
Thanks Gena! Actually these are our stairs from main to upper floor -- bright white risers and expresso stain stairs, but I took it this evening with only the light on upstairs so that it was purposefully dark and only where the light hit was there any outline.
