Shhhhh! Performance in Progress! by taffy

Shhhhh! Performance in Progress!

On our photo walk with the professional photographer, we spotted this wonderful graffiti and stopped to photograph it. Nico, our guide, wanted us to photograph it in a particular was and demonstrated that for us (see Junko's shot - http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2015-12-20 - posted today). This woman was walking by, in the direction toward the figure, when I captured her. We thought it interesting this one looks innocuous while the other is more sinister, just from where the walking figure happens to be facing. I thought about making it b&w, but didn't want to lose the yellow or his mask-like features.

And please consider posting in the Six Word Story theme! Here's the link:

So true - your analysis! I especially like how your person appears to be interacting with the wall art.

Great timing. It appears that they are interacting.

It is amazing how the position of the passerby can influence the mood and feel of the photo! Fav!

Super Taffy - and yes very interesting to see the difference that the direction of the passer by can make.

Great shot - I've looked at both shots but I like the woman looking at the graffiti - it seems to tell more of a story.

Great capture Taffy! The woman does appear to be talking to the masked person. Junko's shot definitely more sinister! Very clever to see this difference!

This is fun, I like the interaction between the two.

Love it. Superb interaction. So different from your friend's version, telling a completely different story.

great wall art opportunity!

Wonderful shot, and I agree with the comparison you made between the two shots. I really love the yellow jacket of this passerby, the colour is brilliant against the graffiti curtains. ,

love the difference. not sure which is more sinister; neither maybe since the person behind the curtain doesn't seem to have malicious intents.

Yes, your analysis is spot on! Amazing graffiti, and neat shots! How fun to walk around with a pro. We did so a few years ago, and it was quite fun to see everyone's different way of looking at things and learn together.

lol.

I think the masked figure is female... which changes the dynamic!

Cool shot and I do like that you kept the yellow in it.

Great composition, I like the way the passerby seems to be walking up to greet the image

This is so neat!

Fun to see the same and different. Speaks to how you don't have to find a new spot or a new subject just a different angle or a different camera setting. This is a valuable lesson for 365. Could be a neat challenge to take the same subject for three days and give it a different view.

@joansmor Great idea for a challenge.
