Inspired by Jane and Marnie - @jgpittinger and @golftragic - among others who have been using textures so effectively, I downloaded Topaz Texture Effects and began working with them. Today, Jane walked me through how to make adjustments instead of using the presets. I realized how lucky I'd gotten with the textured temple one. This is attempt #2 (well attempt #22 or so, but second worth posting). Original taken today on a brief photowalk in our neighborhood.
Lovely capture. Interesting you talk about using adjustments rather than presets, I have so little understanding about presets and I practically never use them. Occasionally I will check out some of the black and white presets in Lightroom but fiddle around with them before I am happy. I must make some time to explore them more.
Well done for getting started and for this, lovely result. Did you manage to set up the conference call with Jane? I bought Topaz Texture Effects yesterday but have not downloaded it yet. I always have problems with downloads and am a bit confused doing it with the MAC. I need a clear head to do it. Family problems got worse yesterday and I couldn't concentrate. I will email you.
Great shot, Taffy. And wonderful effect. I'm still learning PS, even after years of using little else. There's so much to it. Topaz sounds so interesting, but I'm loath to start in to learning another big programme, so well done to you. Get stuck in and enjoy!
Great shot and processing! I have some shots of monkeys in the high trees from my trip that need a LOT of work but I haven't succeeded in
improving them yet. I have so much to learn about post-processing.
@888rachel You'll love this plug-in. It works in LR, has tons of choices, is easy to add adjustments to the presets or work with original photos. Very cool program!
Nice shot Taffy :)
improving them yet. I have so much to learn about post-processing.
