From Chicago's Union Station, processed mostly using Textures and LightRoom, with a tad in Photoshop. Not what I'd planned to post but after an evening working on something in Photoshop, I gave it up as a 'good learning experience' but nothing yielding a photo worth posting. I liked this one for posting, but it's not b&w, so will have to move to extras album. Much better on black.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments about the arches sculpture. It's in a little one-city-block park among several mid-rise condos, so a very modest place. But so much fun to photograph there!
A shot with a great story. You've caught his resignation to the train running late beautifully. He's just settled down to wait. Nothing else he can do. And the architecture around him looks wonderful.
This is a great shot! The contrast of the classic building and the human component combined with the rough texture is perfect. I agree with Jo, this is a story being told.
@paulaw That's what drew me to the image -- his stick and the bright yellow jacket. I wondered if he worked for the train and was heading home after a long day.
I wonder if you considered putting a mask on this one in photo shop - white mask. Then with the original as the base and this as the second layer with the mask, paint with black on the man. Just a thought. The black would make the man appear as he is in the original though you probably know that better than I do.
@joansmor Thanks Joan. I did try it with him masked, but he ended up looking pasted on. I'm going to go back and try using your method (I masked in Textures) and see how that looks.
