Vicuna Takes Off by taffy

Vicuna Takes Off

I've deleted over 26GB of photos taken in the Atacama Desert in Chile, December 2014 and probably have another 20GB to go. That says a lot about the quality of my images then! I liked how the vicuna was in motion here but I didn't like the flat arid background. After quite a bit of play in textures, and figuring out how to blend in grasses, I think this was ready to go.
Thanks for your kind comments on the chess game!
Wicked shot and texture!

So clever Taffy. Your background really adds an artistic element without detracting from.the Vicuna. I haven't really progressed with editing and should persevere as there is so much I'd like to learn but shy away from.

Very cool!

This one is amazing. Funny how when we look back on older images, it's easy now to delete many more than when we originally took the shots.

Great shot. I am constant reviewing old photos and thinning out. The duplicates, the shots you thought you might fix, etc. I can't be as objective when it is fresh.

Well, he's not in an arid setting anymore. Bet he'd like this one a whole lot better himself.

26 GB deleted... feels like a house-cleaning, in a good way. The vicuna is so clear - glad you replaced the background with the complimentary textures and tones. A lovely shot.

A writer friend says you have to kill your darlings. :-) My picture collection would be better with some severe pruning. This one is quite wonderful - motion and a very interesting background.

@lynne5477 You are so right! And there were ones I had marked 5 stars that were simply awful! Over processed, no sense of story, just simply bad!
