Story Of A Daring Event

As mentioned yesterday, the monkey trail ends up at a university on the mountain side. this university is famous for it's view of taipei, and a very popular spot at night.

The romantic night view is so popular, that people have found a way to make money off of it. At the spots with the best view, vendors have set up their stands to sell food to the couples enjoying the view. hot food is a big seller, as it can get pretty darn windy up there.

In fact that's why this picture is only a small part of the view, because it's taken from inside of one of the buildings. For some reason it was especially windy at the university, and after being extra sweaty from the walk up the mountain on this hot day, I figured it wouldn't be too smart to be out in such strong wind. No worries, though, I'll be back some day to get a better picture of the view. Complete with all the landmarks that you know nothing about.

I leave you with a story though. One time after working late, I drove up here on my motorcycle to see the view. When it was time to go, i got on my motorcycle and noticed that there was no electricity. meaning it wouldn't start, and the light wouldn't come on. It being so late, and in a kind of remote area, there was no way i was getting a bus or taxi. So i decided to just ride my motorcycle down the mountain in neutral, letting gravity do the work. Made even scarier by the fact that the headlight wouldn't turn on.

By some magic I was able to get down the mountain and coast far enough once I hit flat land to get to a very busy road. I then parked my motorcycle and took a taxi home. Looking back, I should definitely be dead. But it was so late that there really weren't any cars on the road, and the moon was bright enough that I could see where I was going. Although after reading this, Death will know I cheated him, and probably come to claim me in my sleep tonight.

Remember me as a hero!
