While Taipei is the world's capital for stray dogs, it does have quite a few stray cats as well as outdoor cats. Here are a couple suspiciously watching my dog as we walked down the street.
I know that cats don't often run in packs. But i remember a cat gang that lived by one of my former apartments. A group of four or five small cats ruled by one very large cat. They would go around hunting mice and then present them as offerings to the large cat. Quite surprising.
I also remember a friend who constantly was playing a game of chicken with that large cat. she would run at the cat making a lot of noise, but the cat would never budge, and my friend would turn around and run back screaming. Cursing the cat for it's defiance of the animal hierarchy.
The one terrible thing about those cats, is that they would wail every night. Thankfully I live in a new place where the melodic sounds of traffic drown out any screaming cats.
