Perhaps one last picture of that area. If you remember, I said that to be able to remodel the old home, you have to get permission from the government and some people don't get permission. But even if you do get permission, you have to incorporate the original structure into your redesign.
Apparently this guy has some great connections so he was not only allowed to tear down the old building, but be able to build something completely new that has nothing to do with the "theme" of the old structure. With connections like this, i should make friends with him.
This is a fascination of mine though. with land being so precious here, and space being at a premium, i'm always curious how people design homes oh such small ares of land. Especially now that there is a trend of buying land outside of the city and building your own home.
I always feel that if i ever buy a place here, it should be one that I design, if for no other reason than it will actually have proper insulation and the fixtures not fall apart after a year. But with space being so valuable, it puts a real emphasis on design to make the home feel big, while being on a small plot of land.
