For a country with such a low population, Taiwan has an inordinate number of celebrities. All credit to them for developing a system that turns out celebrity after celebrity who achieve stardom in Taiwan and most importantly China. Also since Taiwan is so small and the celebrities are so many, it's quite common to see them when you are out and about.
Above is a picture of James Wen, a TV actor. Recently he is famous for a program called The Fierce Wife, in which his character cheats on his wife with her cousin. I am very critical of Taiwanese TV shows as they tend to avoid real issues, and teach people bad values. Granted you could say this is the exact same as American TV, but here in Taiwan those bad values are things like women and men are not equal.
Because of this, I respect The Fierce Wife a lot as it does not one but two amazing things. The first being she decides to get a divorce (practically scandalous for Taiwanese TV). But the most impressive thing is at the end of the show she decides to not date any of the men who are after her, she chooses to be on her own and find happiness in herself. Showing that a woman doesn't need a man, and that it's impossible to be happy in a relationship if you aren't happy on your own, are two thoughts that are downright blasphemous in Taiwan. Because of this I sincerely admire this show and their courage.
If you are at all interested in this show or just want to get a taste of what Taiwanese dramas are like, you can actually watch this show online for free with english subtitles. Just type in "The Fierce Wife" into google and it's the first website that comes up. Be warned though that Taiwanese dramas can be quite hard to watch, a lot of overacting (especially when it comes to reactions of things people say or do), tons of juvenile sound effects, and every actor must act and sound cute at all times. All that being said, if you are going to watch one or are curious to see one for yourself, this would be the one I recommend.
Getting back to the photo, apparently he and two female celebrities whom I don't know, were helping a neighborhood lottery store to get some publicity. Sorry for the far distance, but it was actually hard to get a clear shot with all the camera men around. I'm a bit disappointed that i didn't get a clear shot of the women as they both had pounds of makeup on. Always interesting to see that things they do to make somebody's face look good in a photograph, requires making them look like a monster in real life.
