Life's Little Surprises

Living in the city things change very quickly. that one restaurant you go to once a week, could suddenly be closed. Same with that one store that sold that one item you need for much cheaper than anywhere else around.

On the flip side however new things can always pop up. Also there have also been times when even after a few months in one area I discover a new place that I had never really known was there, or never bothered to try or walk in.

This is the case with a restaurant I recently discovered. It's a place that's been there for a long time, but it's an area I'm rarely at, and usually the time I was there it was closed. Well I tried it a few times over the past few weeks and really like it. It's got a wide variety of food (rare for a taiwanese lunch box restaurant) and it has a hard closing time. This means they close at 8:30pm everyday. Which is great because most places just close when they feel like it, usually when nobody has come in for awhile. Meaning a place could close at 8pm one night yet close at 7pm the next. All of which means I'm glad to find this place cause i know that i have a place that has food and definitely is open if i need a late dinner.

That place is kind of dull looking, so instead I provide you a picture with a relatively new pet store in the area. This was also a nice surprise I came across while walking home one day. There are two pet stores in my area, but they are a pretty long walk away, it was nice to have another option that is even closer to my home.

Also I'd like to take this chance to say thanks again to my parents for mailing me some treats and necessities for my dog over the past few months. Many pet supplies are just not available in Taiwan, and if they are, they can cost and arm and a leg.
Thank you for the daily view into life in Taiwan. I'm from California and work daily with a team in Taiwan and have been enjoying seeing the similarities and differences. Keep up the good work.
