On the walk home I saw something just as startling and rare as youth football...a beach volleyball court. It was a shocking realization that while volleyball is uber popular in Taiwan, this is the first beach volleyball court I've ever seen. There are indoor courts and outdoor courts all over the city, but never before have I seen a beach volleyball court. Not even at the actual beach have i seen a beach volleyball court.
I really respect the choice made for this part of the riverside. most sports areas along the river are for the same sports as everywhere else. but this area decided to be unique. In the background if you can see it clearly, is a running track. This is also very unique. Almost every elementary, junior high school, and high school has a running track in it, so often people will go running there after school hours. But this is the only running track I've seen not connected to a school. Which is great cause it means 24 hour a day access.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to more special sporting fields in the future. I've always wanted to try Aussie Rules Football.
