Neither Deep Nor Thin

I'm a fan of deep dish pizza, it's just how I was raised. Unfortunately in Taiwan there is no such thing as deep dish pizza. It's all flat and thin pizzas either made in conventional ovens or in brick stove ovens. While I will admit that a brick stove oven has some magical ability to make a pizza taste even better, I still won't give up my love of a nice thick deep dish pizza.

Following with the theme of not letting shop/restaurant names get you excited, I present to you Chicago Pizza. That name would obviously mean that it's a nice thick pizza, but unfortunately it's not. It lives in some nether realm of a pizza that is neither super thin nor deep, and seems like it was cooked in a toaster oven.

My one and only trip to this place was not a waste though. While eating there my friend and I stared at the framed sheet of ten 1 USD bills. We pondered if the money is real; if you can buy it like that; and if it's possible to spend it as is and/or cut it into single dollars and spend it. These questions kept our minds busy while we did our best to ignore the pizza we were ingesting.

Of course I wouldn't leave you hanging. When I got home I looked up the answer to those questions. Yes it's real; yes you can buy it like that although it's more expensive than the actual value, i.e. a ten dollar sheet costs $14.99; and yes you can spend it as is or cut them into single bills and spend them.

Isn't that what all restaurant experiences are about, learning something?

No, no they are not.
