Whenever I’m out around town and see a guy with an attractive lady, I always think that he is a shallow guy and is just with her because of the way she looks. But when I see a guy out with an unattractive lady, I actually get a bit jealous, because I think that she must be a really interesting person. This is all just to say that, yes we all like pretty girls, but it’s the personality that is important to any friendship.
I like to think that I follow this rule, and don’t spend time with anybody just because of how they look. I know that when I’m out with an attractive woman, I feel annoyed when people say “oh I know why you are with her.” That I have to defend myself by saying “actually she is really cool and incredibly smart.” But the other day I realized that I’m not perfect at following my own rule. That there is one relationship that I have where I’ve broken this rule….my dog.
I love my dog a lot, but man her personality is awful. She is crazy, tricky, manipulative, selfish, stubborn…I could go on and on. But I’m with her cause she is so cute. She does have her good moments though. I enjoy how she will bark at people who jaywalk. It never gets old.
Pictured above is one of her more annoying hobbies, getting under the cover. I should say this is good when it’s winter and she gets under the covers with you and it warms you up, but other than that, it’s a pain always having to feel for where she is before sitting down (I have a blanket on the sofa in the winter time as well). But the true annoyance is in the summer when she gets under the cover not because she is cold, but because she wants to hide from mosquitoes. It’s already hot, so having a little inferno next to you is excruciating. Not to mention her waking you up later on in the night when she is kicking the covers furiously because she is too hot and trying to quickly get out form underneath them.
