You may know that mangoes are my favorite fruit, but that it wasn't always that way. back in the states i didn't really like mangoes. In Taiwan i learned to really like dried mangoes but only the kind above. I remember going to all types of markets trying to find this kind of dried mangoes, but the only ones I found where not as good.
It took me years to find out what was going on. that the taiwan mangoes are different from the picture where are "golden mangoes" aka my favorite fruit. Since stumbling on to golden mangoes, i never really eat these dried ones anymore. However there was a time when these were my favorite snack.
As you can see, they are an import from the Philippines. Usually in Taiwan the only place you can get this particular brand is in 7-11s, where it is quite expensive, almost three bucks for this tiny bag. However if you are in the know, there is a place where you can get them for less than half that price.
