Going Down

Day 9 - Kings Canyon Rim Walk
Following the ridge line down above the adjacent valley.

I haven't mentioned it for a while but . . . The country shouldn't be this green!!!! It's supposed to be red!!!! But it does look rather pretty in a rugged sort of way

The rocks and dirt look red… does the foliage turn red typically in autumn?

Looks a long way back from here Terry, lovely landscape full of green tones:)

@kvphoto All of the green is the result of an unusually wet summer. Except for the trees which stay green, the rest of it will just shrivel up and die (although it doesn't actually die) once the moisture runs out and the summer heat gets going. Mind you, it was late autumn when we were there and the temp was still in the high 20degs. The red I keep referring to is the colour of the rocks/gravel/dirt

I love all the green between the red rocks etc. That seems like such a long way down! How many km's did you walk on this trip?
