Desert Dweller by terryliv

Desert Dweller

This little fellow was about 150mm long and was obviously out basking in the sun. I don't know what sort of a lizard it is but he loks a bit like a baby Bearded Dragon. I have sent his pic to the Alice Springs Reptile Centre to see if they can identify him. I'll let you know what they come back with.
Best on black

PS It's a Gibber Dragon.

Gotta Fav a photo of a lizard!! It's a good capture, nicely composed, great focus. I'd be shaking with excitement, that or holding my breath, hoping it wouldn't take off before I got the pic.

I don't know what I like better the fat little lizard or the pretty, stony background.

Hi Everyone, I have heard back from the Alice Springs Reptile Centre and it is a Gibber Dragon (ctenophorus gibba). If you Google it, you will see that it comes from a very small area in South Aust. I think we were very lucky to have seen it. You can thank Rhoda for spotting it.
