OCOLOY Day 110: Almost the last chance...

...to appreciate the beauty of shape and form of these trees as in a few days time they will be in leaf. I love what I call 'skeleton trees' and can never resist capturing a few images. These are only a few hundred metres from our house and we passed them this afternoon whilst out with our walking group.

As always, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

And again, as always, it's worth viewing on black.
Very nice indeed. A subject you have made your own.

Ça a un petit côté lugubre mais les branches ressemblent à une dentelle très fine, joli !

There are so many wonderful elements in this shot like the light shining on the grassy area and the currently exposed nests.

My trees are beginning to bud. Instead of tree skeletons so we will be posting tree canopies.

Wonderful b/w shot...the majority of trees in my area in full leaf and are beautiful

The skeletons provide such interesting shapes and also a wonderful frame for the trees as they leaf. The mistletoe will disappear though.

I like your sense of barren trees as 'last chance' but you are right -- once filled with leaves, our images become quite different.

Lovely. Great depth to this shot.

Like very much the capture of 3 'generations'. The kids on the block have a long way to go, whilst the old hands have got it off to a fine art. I wonder why ther are so few mid-life trees?

You know I am a fan of skeleton trees too, so no need to say more!

Gotta admit Richard I've grown to appreciate trees all year round. Lovely shot.

There's something beatuiful about winter tree silhouettes, especially when backlit.
